Augie announces da Moose will join the ticket as VP

August 16, 2000 -- Augie NAF, Dopeycrat party contender for the presidency announced today that da Moose will be his running mate.  Party insiders were stunned.  Moose's selection was largely seen as a pandering gesture to the dopey wing of the party and political action committees were rumored to be maneuvering to provide generous campaign donations.

Augie reiterated his commitment to the Dopeycrat platform of "A Basset in Every House -- ESPECIALLY the White House" and his commitment to pig ears and belly rubs
